    Job Description
    THE ROLE

    Ethos Classical is seeking a Founding Director of Development. The Founding Director of Development is directly responsible for raising funds, building awareness, and stewarding impactful relationships that enhance philanthropic support of Ethos Classical. The Founding Director of Development will lead the planning and execution of fundraising strategies to secure grants and gifts from government, corporation, foundation, and individual donors.

    The Founding Director of Development will report directly to the Head of School and will work closely with the Governing Board. The Founding Director of Development will design and implement an ambitious, but realistic, multi-year strategy to increase support from federal, state, county, foundation, corporate, and individual major and annual fund donors. The Founding Director of Development’s high priority goal will be to establish annual giving of $500,000 annually.

    THE PERSON

    As a Founding Director of Development, you will contribute to the vision and mission of Ethos Classical by:

    Development Strategy and Execution (40%)

    • Developing Ethos Classical’s development plan and supporting the Head of School in executing the strategy and tactics to meet or exceed year-over-year and five-year strategic goals, including:
      • Developing the five-year fundraising plan for the school
      • Analyzing the interests of donors and prospects to develop compelling pitches, engagement strategies and stewardship plans
      • Conducting excellent donor interactions and communications (e.g. meetings, events, newsletters, grants, etc.)
      • Developing and maintaining strong operations (e.g. donor-tracking systems, data management, meeting-prep and downloads, gift processing, etc.)
      • Cultivating new relationships and managing those from nascent to ardent partner
      • Prioritizing key actions for the Head of School to take in cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors through external meetings, events and correspondence, etc.

    Portfolio Management (40%)

    • Developing a portfolio of donors, including individuals and key corporate and foundation investors
    • Supporting the Head of School in Governing Board engagement, including helping to:
      • Prepare for and participating in board meetings as needed
      • Liaise with board members on specific projects or activities and corresponding with board members as needed

    Marketing and Communications (20%)

    • Managing all mass communications, both traditional and web-based, to shape the school brand and ensure external communications consistency
    • Leading the marketing and communication aspects of major events and other development campaigns (ideas may include charity sporting events, annual-giving campaigns, web-based giving programs, signature galas, etc.)

     

    THE MUST HAVES

    Prior Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience (i.e. development, fundraising, non-profit)
    • Experience in Metro Atlanta highly preferred
    • Proven achievement and ability in the areas of annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, planned gifts, special events and in-kind contributions (quantifiable financially)
    • Demonstrated experience with the prospect and donor management capabilities of current fundraising software applications like Salesforce.com or similar CRM system

    THE ROLE

    Ethos Classical is seeking a Part-Time Nutrition Coordinator position for the 2022-2023 school year. The Nutrition Coordinator works alongside the Operations Team to provide assistance in the food service program. The Nutrition Coordinator will organize all meal components for daily lunch service (milk, fruit, individually packaged meal) for each classroom, based on daily attendance. The Nutrition Coordinator maintains high standards that achieve efficient and effective delivery of quality food services. They will also maintain an orderly and sanitary kitchen.
    The Nutrition Coordinator reports directly to the Head of School and will work closely with the Manager of Operations. This position is an Independent Contractor role. The pay rate is $18/hour – $630 weekly, $1260 per pay period.

    THE PERSON

    As a Nutrition Coordinator, you will contribute to the vision and mission of Ethos Classical by:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Follow approved food safety procedures.
    • Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure safe temperature ranges are maintained.
    • Properly store dry, fresh, and leftover food items.
    • Replenish supplies relating to scholar meal service.
    • Monitor expiration dates on milk, and dispose of expired products.
    • Learn and follow health and sanitation requirements.
    • Maintain food service equipment and areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
    • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
    • Lift heavy objects.
    • Lift, bend, push, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
    • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as directed.

    THE MUST HAVES
    Prior Experience

    • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
    • Proficient knowledge of standard kitchen equipment.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Sanitation practices related to handling and serving food.

    Work Demands

    • Willing and able to work early mornings, evenings or weekends when that furthers team goals. Anticipated shifts will be 8:00am-3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

    Education

    • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.

    Licenses and Other Requirements

    • ServSafe Certification must be completed upon hire.
